Beauty Changes Lives Foundation Scholarships 

Beauty Changes Lives is a nonprofit driven to make beauty profession a first-choice career. We empower the next generation of beauty professionals through scholarships, mentorship, and advanced education.

Scholarship America — Dream Award

The Scholarship America Dream Award is designed to help you keep moving toward your degree, by providing awards that stay with you. Students who have completed at least a year of college can earn Dream Award scholarships of $5,000 to $15,000 per year, renewable for up to three years.

We believe in tearing down the barriers to a college degree — and that’s why the Dream Award is a scholarship open to all. Your ethnicity, family history, school access, gender, sexual orientation, or immigration status should not be an impediment to attending college and pursuing your dreams.

  • Due date: Opens August 1st
  • You should apply if…/Requirements:
    • If you’re at least 17, you have a U.S. high school diploma (or equivalent) and you have completed at least one year of college, trade or technical school, you’re invited to apply when applications open again in August 2022.
    • The Dream Award is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident card), or individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA).

GlobalAir –  Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship

Whether flying for a profession or flying for fun, GlobalAir.com believes the world needs more pilots. We are passionate about supporting the future of aviation and helping young people reach their goals.

Each year, the Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship provides $1,000 each to four U.S. students attending a U.S.-based college or university, who are dedicated to writing online about their flight training, flying, school, and their interest in aviation. The scholars also get to hone their writing and social media skills working with the GlobalAir.com editorial team.

Our scholarship platform helps connect the student pilot with a large online aviation community of pilots, engineers, flight departments, as well as serves a recruiting tool for the school itself.

    • U.S. citizen
    • Currently enrolled in a fully accredited university aviation program
    • Must be willing to write a 500-word blog post at least weekly throughout the school year while at school

Mrs. Prindables –  Future Educator Scholarship 

Mrs. Prindables is pleased to extend a scholarship opportunity to incoming or current college students majoring in education. We believe that educators have the power to spark positive development in student’s lives and their futures. Whether you are an incoming freshman or current student majoring in education, we want to encourage you to apply for this $1,000 scholarship.

CDPAP Department of Edison HHC – Educational Scholarship 

Edison Home Health Care (“Edison”) is a New York based company providing traditional home care services, as well as Fiscal Intermediary services for the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP). Edison services thousands of patients throughout NY State and is accredited by the Joint Commission – widely recognized as the highest standard in healthcare accreditation.

  • Due date: 8/31/2022
  • You should apply if…/Requirements:
    • To apply, please submit a 500 – 1,000 word essay outlining what you would do to improve healthcare. Topics of discussion can be broad and span areas such as systematic issues (e.g. insurance structures), treatment methodologies, patient psychological well-being, or even specialty specific areas.
    • Applicants must be 18 years or older and be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.

Historic Huguenot Street – Charles J. Hasbrouck Memorial Scholarship; Luille Steppler Baker Memorial Scholarship 

The Charles J. Hasbrouck Memorial Scholarship, offered by Historic Huguenot Street and administered jointly with the Hasbrouck Family Association, is a $1,000 award that may be divided if necessary.

Through a variety of initiatives, Historic Huguenot Street promotes outstanding research and scholarship among college and graduate-level students in such topical areas as decorative arts, Indigenous history and culture, the African American experience in the Hudson Valley, and Huguenot history and culture.

  • You should apply if…/Requirements:
    • To apply, applicants must submit a completed application form
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation – at least one from a college or university professor
    • A statement of the applicant’s goals
    • An official transcript that must be emailed directly to Historic Huguenot Street from the college or university, or sent in an unopened, sealed, and marked envelope from the registrar or bursar’s office, or remitted from the registrar or bursar’s office via an online portal.
    • Applicants must be undergraduates (sophomores-seniors) studying historic preservation, architecture, the conservation of artifacts and manuscripts, and/or the education of the public about local history in accordance with HHS’ mission.

Fund for Education Abroad Scholarships 

FEA’s Access Partners join in the shared commitment to increase the number of underrepresented American college students studying abroad through the provision of scholarships. As members of the FEA Access Advisory Board (AAB), our Access Partners collaborate, share best practices in international education, and actively engage in FEA’s mission. They are helping to make life-changing, international experiences accessible to all by supporting minority and first-generation college students.

  • Offer: Up to $10,000
  • Due date: 9/15/2022
  • You should apply if…/Requirements:
    • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
    • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. (graduate students are not eligible)
    • – Study abroad program must be eligible for credit at the student’s home institution
  • What You’ll Need
    • Complete the application form online
    • Print the Financial Aid Form and bring it to your university’s financial aid office. Someone from that office should complete the form and give it back to you for your to upload to your online application.
    • Upload your unofficial transcript to your online application.
    • Submit the name and email of your recommender. After your recommender submits your letter of recommendation, you must go back into the application to click submit.
    • Make sure ALL application materials are uploaded and submitted before the deadline to be considered for an FEA scholarship.

Seasons in Malibu – Mental Health Education Annual Scholarship

Seasons, a mental health treatment center, specializing in the treatment of mental health disorders is seeking to award $1,500 in scholarships to students enrolled in studies dealing with the subject of mental health.

  • Offer: $1,500
  • Due date: 11/30/2022
  • Questions to be answered in your Essay/Application:
    • What are the differences in the methodologies of mental health treatment between Eastern and Western medicine traditions?
    • What are good examples of using these treatments synergistically in providing quality mental health care?
    • Are there other modes of treatment outside of western and eastern medicine traditions that can also be of value in providing mental health care?
    • What practices can be incorporated in one’s life to promote better states of mental health?
    • Are there any determinants which have been shown to lead to better states of mental health? What are some these factors?
    • Can society play a role in promoting positive states of mental health for its citizen’s?  How so?

Nelson Elder Care Law – Student Caregiver Scholarship 2022

The purpose of the $1,000 Student Caregiver Scholarship is to award one compassionate student who spends their time helping elderly adults. This scholarship is open to those who volunteer with seniors either at a long-term care facility or nursing home, those who take care of an elderly family member, or those who help the elderly in another way. We want to hear why you chose to help and care for the elderly, and how volunteering has shaped you.

  • Offer: $1,500
  • Due date: 11/30/2022
  • You should apply if…/Requirements:
    • To be considered eligible for the Student Caregiver Scholarship students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program within the United States.
    • High school seniors who will be enrolled in college before the application deadline of September 30, 2022 are also encouraged to apply.
    • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
    • Applications must be submitted on or by the deadline of September 30th.
  • A complete scholarship application must include:
    • A current academic transcript, either official or unofficial. High school seniors must additionally submit proof of acceptance into college or university
    • An updated resume detailing academic, professional, and/or community service experiences
    • A 750-word essay describing if you volunteer at a long-term care facility, take care of an elderly family member, or volunteer with seniors? Share with us why you have chosen to help the elderly and how volunteering has shaped you.
