April 26, 2021, Katie Sobolewski

It’s time for another “Try it Together Tuesday,” where we share new ideas on ways to interact with your Little! Check back with us every week to discover engaging ways to keep your Match connected virtually or in person.

String Art Simplified!

String art is all the rage, and a super fun way to make personalized décor! This tutorial from Infarrantly Creative helps you ditch the hammer and create beautiful DIY masterpieces on a budget!

Materials

  • Cardboard
  • Colorful paper or fabric
  • Tape
  • Push pins
  • Colorful string or yarn
  • Scissors

Method

  • Cardboard will act as the base. If desired, cover your cardboard in colorful paper or fabric, securing it on the back with tape or pins.
  • Print out a free string art pattern, or create one of your own – make sure your pattern fits onto your cardboard base.
  • Take your template and put it on top of the base and stick your pins through your template into your paper covered cardboard.
  • Once all the pins are pushed in, carefully rip away your template.
  • Use your string to wrap around the pins, as dense or sparse as you wish for your desired look.
  • Once you’ve finished wrapping the string, cut and tie off the end.

This string art DIY project is a great way to creatively express yourself and is simple enough to be conducted in person or via video chat!
