August 12, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free
Don’t just play the game, MAKE the game! Join BBBS for a look into scratch coding and video game design!

What is the BBBS Explore STEM Series

At BBBS, we strongly believe in early career exploration for young people. STEM Series events give Littles early, in-depth exposure to the exciting world of science, technology, engineering and math. Get hands on experience flying drones, programing robots, coding video games, designing swag, and building electronics! Littles will learn about classes they can take in high school to further their interests, and career paths they can pursue to follow their dreams.

Introduction to Drones

This event will introduce matches to coding via Scratch – developed by MIT, it is the gold standard for learning to code creatively. This software helps develop computational thinking skills while removing barriers to self-expression through program design. Without intimidating grammar or syntax, you can focus on solving problems and building projects that are more fun than work. Matches will learn about the fundamental functions of Scratch, then work together to create basic video of their own!

Details

The event will take place inside the new BBBS building. We will follow all MDH guidelines and have masks available on site.

Dinner will be provided, please note any dietary restrictions during registration.
