STEM Workshop: 3D Printing

Attention STEM enthusiasts aged 12 and above! Join us in collaboration with Jazmine Darden from SPARKZ3D for an exciting STEM workshop where you’ll have the unique opportunity to build and 3D print your very own “Jaz Music Box” Bluetooth speaker.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• This event is exclusively for youth aged 12 and above with a strong interest in STEM.
• Space is limited to 8 Littles, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register only if you’re absolutely certain about attending.
• Adults of the Little, including their Big and/or family members may accompany but are not required to be present for this event.
• This workshop is longer than typical events, but we assure you that the activities are highly engaging. Plus, you’ll get to take home the 3D-printed Bluetooth speaker you create!
• Light snacks and lunch will be provided; please indicate any dietary restrictions during registration.

SCHEDULE:

9:45-10:00 | Arrival and settling in. Light snacks will be provided.

10:00-10:15 | Explore the 3D printing process with examples of its applications in the industry.

10:15-10:45 | Learn TinkerCAD (computer-aided design) software. Students will have hands-on time to explore the software.

10:45-11:30 | Receive the design challenge to create the cover of your Bluetooth speaker.

11:30-12:30 | Lunch break, food will be provided.

12:30-1:30 | Learn about solder safety and then solder all the electronics needed to make the Bluetooth speaker.

1:30-2:30 | Assemble your Bluetooth speaker to take home!
