Gensler is a global architecture, design, and planning firm with 52 locations across Asia, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Founded in 1965, the firm serves as trusted advisors to 3,500 active clients in virtually every industry. Guided by determined optimism, we believe the power of design can spark positive change and create a future that promotes equity, resilience, and wellbeing for everyone.
Our matches are invited to Gensler’s office in downtown Minneapolis to learn about their work as an architecture firm, the steps involved in the design process, and ultimately design and create their own “island” using Hall Island (by Boom Island Park) as their project site.
At the session, matches will:
FOOD: Dinner will be provided. Please list any dietary restrictions during registration.
PARKING: The parking garage address is 112 South 8th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402 (located between Marquette and Second Avenues, directly below the skyway bridge)
When you arrive, let the valet know you’re here for the Gensler event (this will ensure your parking is validated)
In the event parking is full or there is a long line to get in (unlikely to happen, but just in case!), there is also metered street parking available in front of the building, with the closest parking being along 7th Street and 2nd Avenue.
Friendly Photo & Video Reminder: We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable at our events. If you or someone in your group would prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please just let a Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities staff member know.
Throughout the event, our team will be capturing special moments to share the amazing work we do together with Littles, their families, Bigs and our community—whether it’s through our publications, website, or social media, or with our donors, funders and community partners. Your privacy is important to us, and we’re here to make sure you enjoy the event in the way that feels best for you.
