Try it Together Tuesday: Origami
May 19, 2020 , Jennifer Severson
It’s time for another “Try it Together Tuesday,” where we share new ideas on ways to interact with your Little! Check back with us every week to discover that staying connected while staying at home doesn’t have to be a challenge.
This week’s idea comes from Match Engagement Coordinator Maypahou Ly, in honor of APIA Heritage Month!
Learn how to make origami!
Check out the Origami Tsunami YouTube channel for tons of videos on how to make various origami creations.
You and your Little can watch videos and practice together over video chat, or text each other videos and pictures of your finished origami projects.
Create an Origami Care Package
If you’re not able to connect virtually with your Little, leave them an origami care package!
All you’ll need are printouts of the history of the origami crane, step-by-step folding directions, and a few pieces of printer paper for practice. You can finish it off with a nice note, and leave them one of your own paper cranes for inspiration!
Don’t forget to post (with your Little’s parent or guardian’s permission) to our Facebook or Instagram profiles and use the hashtag #KeepKidsConnected to highlight all the fun you’re having!
