University of St. Thomas Partners with BBBS, Provides Mentorship to Elementary Students

January 8, 2019, Hanna Estrem

Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities teamed up with University of St. Thomas students to provide mentorship to students at Four Seasons A+ Elementary School during the 2018-2019 school year. Twenty four Matches met every Thursday at the elementary school and enjoyed activities like icebreakers, board games, a Connect Four tournament, a marshmallow toothpick STEM challenge and decorating bags for Meals on Wheels. To cap off an incredible semester of mentoring, Matches took part in “Reverse Day” where Littles visited Bigs at the University.  Littles spent the afternoon touring dorm rooms and exploring campus on a scavenger hunt. And for many students, it was their first time visiting a college campus! A BIG thank you to University of St. Thomas and Four Seasons A+ Elementary School for an incredible kickoff semester!  Matches will resume meeting in February.
